Brookside History

Brookside Church is part of the Free Methodist Church. The Free Methodist Church began in 1860 in New York as an offshoot of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Core issues for the new church were freedom from slavery, free (as opposed to formal) worship, free seats (in reaction to the practice of persons renting seats), and freedom from connection with secret or oathbound societies.

Brookside Church was organized in the 1930's. The church experienced a growth spurt in a revival led by an ex-marine.

We are committed to loving God, our neighbors, and one another.
